Niskaperseote added to the lineup

One more name joins the lineup for summer's best weekend as Kontiolahti punk crew Niskaperseote crash the party!
The North Karelian punk wave that’s been turning heads across the country will hit Laulurinne in July, as Niskaperseote makes their festival – and Ilosaarirock – debut on Saturday, July 18.
Hailing from just outside of Joensuu, Niskaperseote are the punk band 2026 will be remembered for – across Finland, but especially here in North Karelia. Made up of 17- and 16-year-olds Roope Taavetti, Peetu Väänänen, Panu Tarnanen and Joona Leppänen, the band has dubbed itself the worst punk band in Finland, but the reality hits very differently. Within a year of forming, they’ve drawn widespread national attention and become the young faces of a punk surge shaking an entire region.
Musically, Niskaperseote runs on pure impact – simple, loud and locked in. The songs are cut from the same gunpowder and grit punk has always thrived on: anger at the state of the world, national debt, violence, and working life. Their debut album packs eight blasts into 11 minutes and 34 seconds – a full-throttle continuation of punk’s finest traditions, fast enough that only the toughest keep up.
– We’ve been following this region-shaking punk wave with huge excitement, and of course it'll be on full display at Ilosaarirock this July. For such a young band, Niskaperseote play with relentless intensity – tight, driven and seriously ambitious. It’s great to have these young guys on our stage this summer, says Ilosaarirock promoter Panu.
Niskaperseote will perform at Ilosaarirock on Saturday, July 18. All ticket types – including youth tickets for ages 13–17 – are available via Ticketmaster online and at sales points.
Hit the shops and we'll see you in the pit this summer!
