Niskaperseote

Hailing from Kontiolahti, Niskaperseote are the punk unit 2026 will remember – across Finland, but especially here in North Karelia. Made up of 17- and 16-year-olds Roope Taavetti, Peetu Väänänen, Panu Tarnanen and Joona Leppänen, the band has branded itself the worst punk band in Finland – but their rise tells a different story. In just a year, they’ve clawed their way into national headlines and become the young faces of a punk surge shaking an entire region.

Niskaperseote plays it fast, loud and straight to the bone. Their debut album fires off eight tracks in 11 minutes and 34 seconds – no filler, no mercy. You either stay on your feet or you’re out. The songs run on the same fuel punk has always burned: anger at the state of the world, national debt, violence, and the grind of working life.

This North Karelian mob will play their very first festival show exactly where they should – at Ilosaarirock this July. Niskaperseote on stage, chaos in the pit.
