Hailed as one of the finest examples of contemporary political theatre, Hiljainen ystävä (‘Silent Friend’) is a monologue performance that premiered in spring 2025. Blending rap music, theatre and movement, the piece explores and reflects on the skinhead culture that was prominent in Joensuu during the 1990s and its connection to the present day. The production is a collaboration between Pokka, the Folk Theatre of North Karelia, and an independent group of theatre professionals. Prepare for a powerful and thought-provoking performance.
