Science Sessions by UEF bring a smarter twist to the Ilosaarirock lineup

Summer's best weekend just got smarter – Science Sessions by the University of Eastern Finland are coming to Ilosaarirock!

Science belongs to everyone, everywhere – and that’s exactly why our good friends at the University of Eastern Finland are bringing it back to the festival this summer.

In July, the Oho! Stage will host three fascinating Science Sessions led by top professors and researchers from the University of Eastern Finland. Each festival day dives into a different field of science: on Friday, Professor Tomi Kinnunen takes you into the world of unique (yet cloneable) human voices; on Saturday, Research Director Eero Haapala explores the latest in brain health; and on Sunday, Professor of Practice Kaari Mattila discusses how to protect democracy, human rights and the rule of law in a shifting world order.

Festival-goers won’t just be listening – you can join in, too. On Friday, find out which celebrity shares your voice, and on Saturday, test your grip strength, a surprisingly telling indicator of your overall fitness. Hurrah to science and all scientists!
