The Sounds added to the lineup

The lineup for summer's best weekend is (once again) complete – one of Sweden’s most successful rock bands, The Sounds, will be making their long-awaited Ilosaarirock debut this July!
Formed in 1999 and self-described as a post-punk-alternative-indie-retro-new-wave-revival-rock band (deep breath), The Sounds shot to international fame in the early 2000s thanks to their irresistible sound and magnetic frontwoman, Maja Ivarsson. Blending indie rock, electro pop, and post-punk flair, the Swedish outfit has gifted the world with festival-shaking hits like Living in America, Painted by Numbers and No One Sleeps When I’m Awake. These songs have echoed through stadiums, clubs and festival fields across the globe – and the band’s live energy hasn’t dimmed one bit. The Sounds’ first-ever show at Laulurinne is something both Ilosaarirock fans and the festival team have looked forward to for a long time.
– It’s absolutely brilliant that we managed to book The Sounds for this summer’s Ilosaarirock, especially on such short notice. We’ve been wanting to get them to Laulurinne for ages, and this year, the stars finally aligned. The band themselves are super excited to come and show the East Finnish crowd how the folks from Skåne rock – and trust me, they do rock, says our promoter Panu.
The Sounds will take to the Ilosaarirock Main Stage on Sunday 20 July, filling the slot left open by US artist Shaboozey’s cancellation.
With The Sounds joining the bill, the Ilosaarirock 2025 lineup is now complete! Tickets for the best weekend of the summer are selling fast – and picking up speed by the day. All ticket types are still available at advance prices for now, but don’t leave it too late. Ticket prices (excluding 3-day passes) will rise to gate prices on Friday 18 July at 2 pm.
Just over two weeks to go, folks – are you ready?
