Wristband exchange for Ilosaarirock kicks off on Wednesday at the Rokkikontti booth and the wristband exchange points near the festival site!
Ilosaarirock's festival week is finally here, and that can only mean one thing: summer's best weekend is just around the corner. Time to get ready for the wristband exchange and arriving at Ilosaarirock!
All Ilosaarirock tickets must be exchanged for a wristband before entering the festival site. Your wristband is your access pass – it lets you move in and out of the festival area throughout the festival weekend.
Wristband exchange starts on Wednesday 16 July at the designated exchange points at Louhela Sports Field, right next to the festival site. There’s also a separate VIP wristband exchange point at Louhela Field for VIP ticket holders. In addition, you can swap your ticket for a wristband in advance at the Rokkikontti booth, located in the yard of the former Joensuu Lyseo high school (Koskikatu 8), from Wednesday to Friday, 16–18 July.
Festival wristbands are personal and will be fastened directly to your wrist at the time of exchange, meaning you cannot collect someone else’s wristband on their behalf.

Fri 18 July 12 pm – 11 pm
Sat 19 July 11 am – 8 pm
Sun 20 July 12 pm – 5 pm
Rokkikontti (former lyseo school yard):
Wed 16 July 10 am – 7 pm
Thu 17 July 10 am – 8 pm
Fri 18 July 10 am – 6 pm
When the wristband exchange points are closed, you can swap your wristband at the main gate info point during festival opening hours.
Youth or children's ticket holders, be ready to prove your age
If you’ve purchased a youth or children's ticket, your age will be checked at the wristband exchange point. Youth tickets are valid for those aged 13–17, and children's tickets for those aged 8–12. We recommend bringing a photo ID or other age-verifying document with you.
For all other ticket types, age or identity is not checked during wristband exchange. Although the name of the buyer may appear on the ticket, Ilosaarirock tickets are not tied to a specific person, so it’s perfectly fine for someone else to use the ticket you bought.
Half-price entry to the local baseball match with your wristband
Exchange your wristband in advance by Wednesday or Thursday at the latest, and you’ll score a half-price ticket to Joensuun Maila’s baseball match on Thursday evening, 17 July. This year’s traditional Rock Match pits JoMa against Kiteen Pallo, so we're in for a tasty local derby, no less!
The match kicks off at 6 pm at Mehtimäki’s Ilosaarirock Stadium. After picking up your wristband, you can get your discounted baseball ticket either from Joensuun Maila’s shop in the Metropol shopping centre in downtown Joensuu or directly from the stadium’s ticket booth on game day.
