Ville Härkönen’s dream state

If there’s a perfect place for Ville Härkönen & Velvet, it must a be summer festival. It’s a perfect match for Härkönen’s velvety voice and Velvet’s country-flavoured sound.

Matti Härkönen made his sophomore appearance, playing both the bass and the guitar. His first time was on Thursday at a club gig on Popkatu. Playing on the truck stage, the multi-instrumentalist had no troubles with his solos.

In the faster numbers At The Gates and Wake Until Tomorrow he switched instruments with Petri Varis, who usually playes the guitar. Ville and the rest of the band was kept aloft by the appreciative crowd.

They ended their gig with a cover version of Leijat that they dedicated to the memory of Kirka (who isn’t even dead yet).
