Sunny afternoon with Barefoot Brothers

07_BarefootBrothers_em0011.jpgThe years may have lessened the swing of the lead singer’s hips but they have taken nothing away from their music.

The sunny afternoon on the Truck stage was perfect for the band’s crispy country rock, re-introduced by the album Rehab Convention, released after seven years of silence.

There was only a handful of people in the audience, but in that handful I think I saw others who loved the band already in the 90s. The band established a warm gentle atmosphere despite the small crowd.

The gig started with songs from the new album, as “Can’t Catch Me” and “Silence Grows” echoed from the stage in a row. In my imagination, Barefoot Brothers has always been placed in smoky bars, but now it has been proved, that the Jim-Morrison-beard can also take full-on sunshine.
