Perky Pekingese rockers

I doubt The Subs would be as interesting as they are if they were Occidental. It also doubtful that many the listeners gathered round the Truck Stage knew any of their songs, but that didn’t stop the Subs from taking control of their audience.

The newfound best friends got hands in the air and people shouting, nevermind the lack of a shared language. Even though their playing wasn’t picture perfect and the punk rock songs sounded pretty much alike, such small problems were brushed aside by their show, which was bursting with energy. They never stood still, and the performance of lead singer Kang Mao was a true cherry to top this cake. Her playing reminded me of PMMP’s girls wonderful act, and her gravely voice made a lasting impression.
