Small group of fans is screaming madly in front of the stage well before the first sight of Little Jack. These locals know they are about to see a stellar show. Little Jack, the winners of the Rokit competition, may have existed barely a couple of years, but they’ve clearly found both their style and their audience.
Little Jack is not the first band in the world to play rock, but they master the tricks of their genre very nicely. The performance is well rehearsed, and it could hardly be any more energetic. What sets Little Jack apart from others, namely, is their presence on stage. These guys love to perform, and it shows. They know how to play and sing, and they know how to pose like rock stars. The band would appear to be achieving their aims almost too perfectly, yet the sheer joy which Little Jack exudes makes them feel fresh. The Ilosaari gig clearly has a special significance for Little Jack - at times it is hard to tell who are more ecstatic, the band on stage or the fans in the mosh pit.
This summer, Little Jack may still be a hidden local gem from Joensuu, but they are unlikely to stay that way.
