There could have not been a better way to start sunday at YleX- stage than Vuokko Hovatta. Moody sounds presented by a very charismatic artist was just what the slighty hangoverish crowd needed. Romantic and poetic songs refreshed everone’s memories of what these festivals are all about. Love and tears were in the air as Vuokko Hovatta started the day at YleX- stage.
Known from bands like Ultra Bra and Tekniikan Ihmelapset Vuokko Hovatta’s act is often concedered to be deep and artistic. The show at the YleX- stage was just that. Nevertheless the general vibe wasn’t sad or depressed. The songs were catchy and the band seemed enjoyed their spot as sunday’s opening act at YleX- stage. Deep emotions ran through the half full YleX- tent as Hovatta put out lyrics based on Aulikki Oksanen’s poems. A classy and warm way to start the day.
