Rubik at the truck stage
Rubik, who are on the verge of breaking thru to mass recognition performed at the truck stage to an enthusiastic crowd . The group represents a new generation of indierock bands who combine traditional alternative rock with progressive elements in a daring fashion.
Members of the quintet occasionally changed instruments in between songs and at a few times three of them were playing the same keyboards simultaneously. The gig itself, which featured excellent and dynamic music was plagued by low sound volume. Especially the quiet parts of Rubik’s songs drowned under the epic sounds of Sonata Arctica playing at the main stage. To make matters worse, a moderately strong wind blowing sideways to the stage didn’t help at all. However Rubik’s compositions sounded excellent despite of the bad sound quality.
Neither the band or the audience didn’t seem to mind the problems with audio volume, as the group performed with great enthusiasm and the mood in the audience was great. After the show, the crowd were treated with a deserved encore.
