A short story about Abduktio
Abduktio gathered a decent crowd in front of the truck stage. Absolutely the best part in this gig was the pit. Just following the mass of people thrashing around took attention away from the band itself. Isn’t this the best part in punk? The old punk is tired. In fact so tired this is the first time to witness Abduktio live, although they’re been playing their heavy music for quite a long time. They sing in finnish, but there’s absolutely no hope of understanding the lyrics. Abduktio isn’t all about growling though, the songs even contain space for grasping your breath. A curiously progressive song was featured around half-way of the set list. Despite of their anger, they leave a placid feeling.
This story isn’t of any use for those who know the genre better, but I can recommend the band to those who don’t. Small stage instead of a big one. There’s attitude in the air.
Let us to conduct an experiment. An individual on the verge of falling asleep is inserted into the pit. I decide to receive everything and not panic. I’m pushed around and follow along. Soon the people crashing on me wake me up. A bit of sports is always good. Three songs go fine, I’m refreshed. After that it is for the best to move away and listen the last song a bit more far away, just in case. This gig was a splendid ending for the evening.
