Greetings from Denmark
Carpark North’s trip from Jutland to Eastern Finland, has definitely been worth the while. The Danish band, fashionably dressed in black, was given a most warm welcome to Ilosaarirock by the audience at the YleX stage.
Based solely on their gig, it is easy to believe that the band is in great favour in their home country. The trio whipped themselves to a great performance, and the set contained only one song, during which one could pop out for a breather.
Fortunately, refreshment was close at hand as water was sprayed on the audience to keep them from passing out. The custom seemed to please also the band, which kept on asking for more.
To the most enthusiastic audience members, Carpark North represented a new bringer of world peace. Tuomas from Joutseno even compared them to a certain Irish rock group piloted by Bono.
Carpark North has definitely no need to be ashamed, even when compared to their compatriots, Mew and The Raveonettes. The band’s interesting blend of different music styles will no doubt find its audience also outside Denmark.
