Lemonator’s sunny opening

What better way to greet a lazy sunny afternoon than to meet with Lemonator? The band, fronted by Lasse Kurki (or Larry Crane in those older, pseudonymous days) was a perfect match for an easy-going festival audience. Lemonator were the opening act of the festival, an always difficult spot.

01_Lemonator_mp_01.jpgThis gig was packed with their greatest hits. No time was wasted getting to the catchiest tunes like Is it you? and Broken record, keeping the atmosphere up all the time. At times Kurki asked the audience for some help with drumming, and they were happy to oblige.

The one hour popgavanza was a trial by fire for the Joensuu-born Aleksi Ojala, who has been added to the band’s live lineup.
