The Preacher Man
Ilosaarirock is famous for introducing new faces to the public. New Yorker Saul Williams is an artist who’s poems have been translated into Finnish by the Finnish rap artist Paleface. On Sunday afternoon Saul Williams and his amazing DJ shocked at the YleX-stage.
At one point Saul Williams says to the crowd he’s proud to play in a country where people are encouraged to manage on their own. Many finns may have a different oppinion on the matter but Saul Williams’ words represents well his act. Every word this man puts out has got a meaning. Best described as a mixture of Prodigy and Faithless, Saul Williams leaves his crowd speechless.
Shame we finns aren’t too eager to move our booty because the atmospehere at the gig was too serious. Looks like Finns weren’t prepared for the Preacher man.
