Stella and Ilosaarirock Festival have come a long way together. During the first years of Stella's existence you might have spotted them as one of the early evening performers at Sulo Club. However, since the release of their debut album in 2004 it has been clear that this band has potential to go anywhere. Their songs are the prime of Finnish pop music: beautiful, elaborate and unique, and the lyrics, melodies and arrangements have been refined to perfection. In their songs, one can hear the familiarity with the history of music and the sincere desire to say something meaningful. It's no wonder Stella nowadays takes the main stages of the biggest festivals in Finland.
Stella has been on a break from touring since the late 2009 to work on their fourth album. The break is sure to have boosted the craving for gigs for both the fans and the band. Knowing Stella, something new and marvellous must be on the cards. The first tastes of the forthcoming album promise a masterpiece – once again. Stella and Ilosaarirock Festival, well, you know. It doesn’t get more beautiful than this!
