Iced Earth (USA)

Legends of old school heavy metal at the height of their long career

Heavy metal as a genre may well be at the all-time peak of its popularity now, surpassing even its golden days in the 1980s, and it's only just that the labour of one of the hardest working combos in the trade is paying off now. Always one of the biggest names of old-school heavy metal, Iced Earth has been together for more than a quarter of a century now, and during its long career the band has certainly seen the thin and the thick of it. Having always been the one to keep true to the members' inner vision and treat every audience with ultimate respect and humility, Iced Earth's present and future look brighter than ever.

The building blocks of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal are very much present in Iced Earth's music. It's raw and rough, but at the same time very melodic and ambitious heavy metal that offers a wealth of opportunities for the musicians to show their virtuosity. Live versions of the songs can easily last for fifteen minutes, but are so laden with hooks and consist of so many parts that repetition is virtually nonexistent. The band that has travelled countless miles and seen an infinite number of backstages is now ready to land at Ilosaarirock Festival and share their passion for true Heavy Metal with their Finnish fans. Hats off to Iced Earth!
