Ablazer

A promising newcomer in the Finnish metal scene

The newcomer Ablazer, from Joensuu, jumped to the awareness of metal fans last year through a band competition by Century Media Records. The competition gave the band a chance to play at Finnish Metal Expo to be rated by the Finnish metal elite. In the end it probably wasn't a very tight spot. Despite their young age, Ablazer is a high-quality and well qualified metal group. Their modern death metal bows to the Norwegian black metal greats as well as the domestic Children of Bodom, but their songs are unique enough to stand on their own. We'll be surprised if these guys don't bag a record deal soon.

Defining itself as doomsday metal, Ablazer adds fresh approach and bracing energy to the Ilosaarirock line-up. It'll be exciting to see whether this festival performance will be the thing that triggers them to tour across Europe in the company of other Finnish metal groups. Take notice of the name, we'll hear of Ablazer again!
