Ukkosmaine (freely translated Thunder Reputation) is an icon of Joensuu all around Finland. Their thunder sign in a T- shirt tells that the person wearing the shirt has got some connections to Joensuu. Ukkosmaine brings Joensuu based people together wherever they tour in Finland and they have a huge fanbase in their hometown. That’s why on saturday evening the true party was at Rekkalava- stage where Ukkosmaine spread their message of love as the last act of the day.
While some American has beens where rocking the main stage the Ukkosmaine duo gathered a good crowd to the Rekkalava- stage. The ones who came there knew what to expect. They most likely had seen it all before but the good thing about Ukkosmaine is that it never gets boring. Loving, local and sympathic are few words to describe Ukkosmaine’s performance. When the song about the local post code was put up in the air the crowd had no problems remebering what the numbers where. 80200 echoed in the air and for the ones who were there, the Rekkalava- stage was the only place to be on a saturday evening.
