STELLA

Last year was a middle-sized mayhem for the Joensuu-based Stella. Their second album Pelkääjän paikalla was released in March and instantly topped the Finnish album chart, eventually staying in the Top 40 for what seemed like forever. The album's success had an effect on Stella's gig calendar, too: the band did more than seventy gigs in the year 2006, and early in 2007 they received a gold disc for Pelkääjän paikalla.

At the time of writing this, Stella is still on a well-deserved break, writing new songs for their upcoming album. Luckily for us, they are back on track again in the summer. Last year's Ilosaarirock saw one of its most stunning moments when the entire Laulurinne ground was filled to capacity with Stella's fans, each and everyone clapping their hands to the music from the main stage. Let's have a repeat of that at Sulo Club this summer, shall we?
