MARIA GASOLINA

Perhaps you haven't yet heard of Maria Gasolina, especially if you happen to live outside Southern Finland. Let us then inform you that this eight-strong group has been playing their Finnish versions of mainly Brazilian songs (but also an occasional take from Blondie, Moloko or Manu Chao) ever since the year 2001, and that during those six years they have played dozens and dozens of sold-out gigs in the Helsinki region. Let us also add that their much-awaited first album, an eight-track Se jokin was finally released last year.

By now, we hardly need to tell you that if there ever was a summer party band, it is Maria Gasolina: the band that sounds very much like how the carefree summer days feel.
