Impaled Nazarene

IMPALED NAZARENE

Goats, bullet belts, gas masks, indecencies for in-between song chat, goats, dirty tunes, Satan, death, mass destruction weapons, war, and some more goats. Impaled Nazarene has never been the one to mince matters when it comes to spitting their grotesque visions straight to the audience's eyes and ears.

Neither has this hardcore-cum-black metal group always got away with their dirty deeds. Performances have been cancelled during the 1990s and 2000s in such various places as Germany, Italy, France, Austria, Poland and Australia. Of their ten studio albums, at least Suomi Finland Perkele (1994), Nihil (2000) and Pro Patria Finlandia (2006) have been banned from sale in a number of European countries. But, although the band has been blamed for instigation against various national and political groups, their demonic delivery is hardly intended to be taken seriously. Their self-dubbed "nuclear metal" does include a hint of national pride, but also a length of almost cartoonish ridicule, the fact that the band's vocalist Mika Luttinen has been pushed to explain again and again to the scandal-starved media.

Do not believe all the weird stories about them. But just to be on the safe side – lock up everything that might pass for a sacrifical animal when Impaled Nazarene comes to town.
