AIYEKOOTO AND HIS AFROBEAT INTERNATIONAL

Aiyekooto was born in Nigeria as Babatunde Akerele, but has been living in Helsinki since the year 2005. Helsinki-based is also his band Afrobeat International, a fifteen-strong group whose many members share their time between AI and some of the best-known rhythm bands in Finland, such as the Soul Investigators and Soul Captain Band.

At the moment, Aiyekooto is just about to finish his first album that will be released later this year. Funk and exotic rhythms mixed with positive waves: with sounds like that blasting on you on a hot July afternoon, you just cannot lose.
