ABDUKTIO

If you think that music should always be nice, sunny and funny, this band may not exactly be your cup of tea. Abduktio, mind you, is a band that does not spare itself onstage, or have any mercy for the objects of its antipathy. Ten-year-old Abduktio uses the might of music to attack such miseries of the modern world as militarism, greed and globalisation. Uncompromising but kinky hardcore makes a strong background for the heavy message; it is, therefore, only fitting that lately Abduktio has been doing a lot of gigs with such top-notch metal bands as the Finnish Rotten Sound and the Swedish The Haunted.

A lot of the band's field experience has been gained beyond the Finnish borders, and in a likely manner have their recordings been universally praised. The EP Yövuoro shows the increased technical skill and relentless speed of the combo, whereas their latest album Tuli kulje kanssani ('Fire Walk With Me') refers to the director David Lynch who, not unlike Abduktio, has never been the one to resort to the most conventional of solutions.

But lest we may forget, let us remember that having fun is not forbidden even when confronted with the most serious of messages. We can safely expect that Abduktio will serve us with both unquenchable energy and worthwhile ideas.
