FI-REGGAE ALL STARS

Attention all friends of Jamaican-style bass rhythms: the Relax stage is here again, ready to meet even the most delicate — and not so delicate — tastes. One of the most famed and awaited performers on the stage is this band with an exceptionally self-explanatory name: Fi-Reggae All Stars.

The group, formed by some of the finest reggae artists in Finland, boasts an astonishing total of six vocalists: Raappana, Bongo Rhino, Nopsajalka, Puppa J, Paarma and Natty Kauka. All these gentlemen are also busy with their own bands and other projects, so the gigs by Fi-Reggae All Stars are few and far between. In 2005, for example, they had only one gig in Helsinki and another in Sweden.

Fi-Reggae is also the name of a Finnish society dedicated to reviving and celebrating reggae in Finland. In their 2006 poll, Fi-Reggae All Stars was nominated as Best Band, and their Helsinki gig as Best Gig. So if you have never even imagined that Finnish reggae can exist in the first place, this is your chance to make friends with it — and with the best there is!
